Imran's Khan hefty and affable countenance charms one and all. Right from his neighbours at Ramnagar village, to film makers from India and abroad, to biologists, nature lovers and researchers, Imran Khan is the one stop store house of knowledge, information and anecdotes, for any aspect related to tiger conservation and Corbett National Park.
Corbett has been home to Imran Khan for the past 18 years and he has been influential in promoting responsible tourism in and around Corbett. He has successfully trained scores of youth from Ramnagar and surrounding villages in nature interpretation, tiger trekking , bird watching , as nature guides. He has recently been appointed a member of the Wildlife Advisory Board, Uttarakhand. He also holds membership of numerous societies devoted to preservation and conservation of the wildlife, both national and international.
Imran's passion for tiger conservation is suitably matched with his beautiful wife Kahkashan's passion in the kitchen. Imran believes in inculcating the sense of belongingness among the staff by teaching and training them about animal and bird acoustics or indirect evidences, live sightings while Kahkashan substantiated the taste from the kitchen by introducing some of the home cooked mughlai and authentic indian curries.
Having pioneered and itinerised wildlife tourism and being instrumental in developing two best run and managed resorts in Corbett, one even judged the best wildlife resort in Corbett by the tourism ministry of Government of India, Imran has now opened the doors of his own home, to nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, bird watchers and anyone who wants to explore, desires to learn and longs for a quiet and informative hideaway in Corbett.
